On the ivory sand, by the crusty bark of the palms,

we mock the sea of candid lovers

it's amorous scent, though

tempts you to take a dive

Whirling pinwheels and Vintage bungalows

The broken seashells

The barefoot walk

The beach lights that aren’t switched on

before the dramatic sundown

The girl you sing to

who isn’t your sweetheart

The youngsters playing volleyball

The strap of my sling bag I clutch at while I hear you sing

The ocean, blue like your heart

The setting sun

The salted water

but in the corner of your eyes

You start untying the knot in your chest

with one goal-

Confess before the fire drowns

The sun kisses the edge of the horizon

And your selfless love meets my apologetic no

Twilight falls over the felt bond of our undefined feelings

You fade away

and I sink deeper into the sand

just like my heart that couldn’t unveil itself

to your naked innocence

as we accept the love, we think we deserve

And even after the sun sets

your hopeful rays travel beyond the infinite line

And reach my skin to caress it

And I let out a smile.
